Class Rules

Hello and welcome to kindergarten with Ms. Smith in room 302! This is my tenth year of teaching various grades in first, third, pre-k, and now kinder.  The most important thing to know about me is that I LOVE teaching reading and writing to kids.  I hope you get to see what I see when those light bulbs go off and your child actually understands that all those letters on their page mean something!  I believe kindergarten is the most important year for students in building a love for reading.  It is here that students learn to love reading, not just this year, but for the rest of their lives.  As a team, we can work together to ensure that your child is equipped with the knowledge and tools to rise to our fullest expectations in all subject areas this year.  Thank you for your support and please feel free to drop in for a visit!  I am in room 302--with my happy kids reading enthusiastically.

Kindergarten is the foundation for learning academic, social and behavioral expectations in school.  These expectations will be supported with positive, consistent reinforcement in the classroom.  I hope that we can continue to work together to give the best guidance to your child as possible.  Please feel free to email, call, or stop by anytime to discuss our class rules, incentives, expectations, or consequences.
